TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Police's Traffic Corps has prepared 182 electric vehicles, consisting of 88 electric cars and 94 electric motorcycles, as security and escort vehicles for the G20 Summit in Bali. The summit is scheduled to take place from 15 to 16 November 2022.
To maximize security, the police hold training to improve officers' skills in driving electric vehicles, involving 50 participants from the Traffic Corps.
"We train all members as we understand how the features and mechanics of electric vehicles are different from fossil vehicles. These training are part of the Pura Agung Operation that we run in securing the G20," the National Chief of Police's assistant operations officer, Insp. Gene. Agung Setya Imam Effendi, said on Friday, September 15, as quoted from the NTMC Police website.
After the training, members of the Indonesian Police Force are expected to serve well in their duty to guard the G20 Summit.
"We are 100 percent ready to carry out security properly. I am sure we can do this well," Agung Setya said.
