TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - All six passengers aboard a Susi Air flight on Thursday destined for Duma from Timika reportedly survived after airport authority lost contact with the Pilatus Porter PC-6 mid-flight.
Timika Airport head management Asep Soekarjo said a rescue team is being dispatched to evacuate survivors.
“We are still under the plane and securing the victims. As of now, all passengers survived,” said Asep on June 23.
He said the airport authority is currently gathering information and data to understand the air accident involving the plane with the callsign PK-BVM which will be announced in the next couple of hours.
Owner of air carrier Susi Air, Susi Pudjiastuti, previously announced that one of her planes had been in an accident during a flight from Timika to Duma. She announced that initial reports suggested that all of the six passengers survived.
