TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi had lunch with seven leaders of parties in the government coalition. They are Airlangga Hartarto from Golkar, Suharso Monoarfa from PPP, Zulkifli Hasan from PAN, Surya Paloh from NasDem, Prabowo Subianto from Gerindra, Muhaimin Iskandar from PKB, and Megawati Soekarnoputri from PDIP.
"We had lunch—the party chairpersons and the President. Of course, what we talked about was political consolidation, especially in facing global challenges," Airlangga said at the Merdeka Palace in Central Jakarta, Wednesday, June 15.
According to Airlangga, they also spoke about challenges in the fields of energy, food, and the government's economic achievements.
He said that the World Bank recently corrected Indonesia's economic growth, lowering it from 5.2 percent to only 5.1 percent, while the global economic growth was corrected from 4.8 percent to 3.6 percent. "So, the challenges in many sectors have become heavier, and we can only overcome this with political stability," he said.
During the lunch, Airlangga said that all party leaders agreed to stabilize political conditions, as to achieve economic recovery and overcome the energy and food crises.
The party leaders had lunch with Jokowi prior to the ministers and deputy ministers' inauguration at the State Palace. After lunch, Jokowi inaugurated Zulkifli Hasan as the new Minister of Trade and former TNI Commander Hadi Tjahjanto as the new Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency. The president also appointed three new deputy ministers.
