TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State power company PLN has instructed 47,090 personnel to secure electricity supply throughout the holy month of Ramadan. PLN seeks to make sure that the people are comfortable and focus on worshiping during the holy month.
PLN executive VP for corporate communications and CSR, Agung Murdifi, said on Monday, April 4, that the tens of thousands of staff will be stationed in 1,500 standby posts across the country. They will be working in shifts for 24 hours to maintain reliable power supply.
PLN not only maximizes the operation of existing power plants to guarantee supply, but also prepares backup by providing uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, mobile transformers, and generators.
During the Ramadan 2022 standby period, PLN ensures that it does not carry out any maintenance or construction work. That way there will be no disruption of electricity supply to the public.
PLN also implements working shifts at generator stations, transmission and distribution departments, as well as send periodic reports on the condition of electricity to the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry during the standby period.
"With these preparations, we hope that the Muslims will be able to carry out their Ramadan worship solemnly. We will make sure that everyone receive reliable power supply," Agung said.
