TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government will soon finalize the Presidential Regulation, known as Perpres concerning the institutional authority in the New Capital City (IKN) within two months following the recently approved IKN bill.

"The (Perpres) draft was made, but is being perfected," said the Presidential Staff's Office, Wandy Tuturoong to Tempo on Wednesday, January 19.

Wandy then said the government has two months to form the authorities through the said regulation and the President must appoint IKN Nusantara authority leader through Presidential Decree (Keppres).

According to him, along with the IKN bill, the regulation draft was prepared over a year ago and almost every institution and ministerial included in drafting it with Bappenas as the leading sector.

During the drafting, Wandy admitted there were many amendments in the substancies, namely the institution name, structure, authority, duty and functions.

Particularly concerning the institution, the name matches with the one stated in the bill, Otorita IKN. Furthermore, the structure will be divided into five departments and the leader of it is chosen by Otorita IKN Head. As for the duty and authority of the institution is to develop and run the new capital city.
