TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto called in Co-Founder of Holywings, Ivan Tanjaya, after hearing the news that the restaurant and bar would be open in the region. Bima said the city government forbade eateries and entertainment venues serving beverages containing more than five percent alcohol.
“Yesterday I summoned the owner of Holywings to the City Hall to convey this,” said Bima in Bogor, Sunday, January 9.
He also inspected the establishment which was being built on Jalan Pajajaran, Baranangsiang, East Bogor on Sunday afternoon.
He underlined that the regional government would not allow the popular hangout spot to operate if it carries the same concept as it is in other cities, viz. serving over 5 percent alcoholic drinks and presenting nightclub shows.
Bima said that the building permit (IMB) issued for Holywings was for a general cafe, not a nightclub that served alcoholic beverages. He further asserted that all types of businesses in Bogor must be in accordance with the city’s vision, which is a family, religious city.
“If it sells alcohol, let alone presents DJ like in other cities, we will not allow it,” the Mayor said.
However, Mayor Bima Arya went on to say that the owner of Holywings agreed to the request of the Bogor Government to adapt the cafe's business concept to the city’s vision.
