TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo a.k.a. Jokowi confirmed that he would not reshuffle the cabinet during the inauguration ceremony of the Indonesian Military or TNI Commander Andika Perkasa.
“Not yet, tomorrow will be the inauguration of the Commander in Chief,” the President told reporters after inaugurating the Serang-Rangkasbitung toll road in Lebak Regency, Banten on Tuesday, November 16.
The shake-ups issue has been circulating for the last two months. As the National Mandate Party (PAN) joined the cabinet and the term of office of the TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto came to end, speculation on the reshuffle of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet was rife.
However, the head of state confirmed that he would not reshuffle the cabinet. On Wednesday, he was only scheduled to inaugurate General Andika Perkasa as TNI Commander replacing Hadi who will retire this November.
Jokowi last reshuffled his cabinet in December 2020, involving five ministerial positions. He also added a number of figures namely Sandiaga Uno, Tri Rismaharini, and Sakti Wahyu Trenggono in the cabinet.
