TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State power company PLN earned Rp204.65 trillion revenues from revenue in the third quarter of this year. This figure reflects a 4.7-percent year-on-year increase from Q3/2020's Rp195.47 trillion.
PLN's director of commerce and customer management, Bob Saril, said that the achievement is inseparable from the company's strategy of creating demand through intensification and extensification efforts.
He mentioned that numerous promotions for customers to raise their power subscription were received with enthusiasm. "With additional power, customers are more productive and electricity usage increases," Bob said in an official statement, Wednesday, October 27.
In the first nine months of 2021, Bob said, the number of PLN customers had increased by 2.6 million to 81.6 million.
PLN's intensification efforts are carried out through promoting a lifestyle of using electricity-based equipment, such as encouraging ecosystems and the one million induction cookers program, as well as battery-run electric vehicles.
In terms of extensification, the strategy takes form in win back program by acquiring captive power, a.k.a. replacing electricity for companies that still use their own generators with electricity supply from PLN. That way, the company can focus on its core business.
Another method is by tapping into potential market niches with the agriculture and marine electrification programs in the farming, animal husbandry, plantation, and fishery sectors.
