TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The easing of the public mobility restriction (PPKM) has started to affect the number of tourists visiting the Bedugul tourism site in Tabanan, Bali. The site was crowded by tourists from outside of Bali.
The Public Relation officer of Bedugul Putu Suarya, said that the upcoming national holidays are the main factor of increasing number of tourists. "During the holidays, the number of visitors per day reaches 300 people. That number has increased in comparison to the usual days that reach 100 people," Suarya said on Wednesday, October 21, 2021.
According to Suarya, with the increasing number of visits by local tourists, the site management decided to impose tighter security to prevent transmission of Covid-19. Visitors are required to take a body temperature check, present their vaccination card or vaccination status through the PeduluLindungi mobile app, and exercise health protocol during their visit.
With the increasing number of tourists, Suarya hoped that the government may provide leniency for tourists who visited Bali. "We will make sure that we will not reduce health protocol, we guarantee that the tourists will be safe and comfortable when visiting our site because we have carried out strict health protocol procedures," Suarya said.
One of the tourists who visited the site from West Java Herlys Prasasti, said that he feels glad that he could have the opportunity to have holiday in Bali following the easing of the PPKM to level 2. "[I am] grateful because the pandemic had slowed down, I can go on a vacation again, but still maintain health protocol, follow government rules, and the important thing is that we are all healthy," Herlys said.
