Police Nab 10 Fugitives of Human Trafficking, Umrah Fraud Cases

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police's General Crime Unit Directorate, in the past two months, caught 10 fugitives involved in several cases; from the human trafficking until umrah fraud case.
"Yes, the team arrested 10 fugitives in the period of September-October, 2021," said the police director of general crime Brig. Gen. Andi Rian Djajadi, when confirmed in Jakarta, Thursday, October 14.
Andi said there were three fugitives in human trafficking case, namely Mahzum Nasser, Tati, and Yunan. The three were arrested in different times and locations. They were listed as fugitives in March 16, 2021, under the police report number LP/A/0172/III/BRK.
One of the criminals, M Akbaruddin, was the suspect of hajj fraud case with 2,705 victims. "The motive was that the victims were asked to pay Rp5 million additional fund to go for umrah pilgrimage," he said.
Meanwhile, there were five suspects in fraud, embezzlement, and letter forgery case who were also arrested in different times and locations. They were Dadang Firdaus, PH Levhinsone, Boy Ridhanto, Surono, and Andianto Setiadi. The arrests were based on the police report number LP/913/IX/2016/BRK, dated September 6, 2016.
The 10th fugitive was Burhanuddin. He was nabbed in front of Graha CIMB Niaga building, at Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Senayan, South Jakarta, on October 5. "The suspect was caught in the case of false information on authentic deed and fraud," said Andi.
