E-commerce Report Ranks Indonesia 3rd Largest Android-Based Market

14 October 2021 09:36 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Mobile marketing analytics and attribution platform AppsFlyer revealed that the number of E-commerce application downloads in Indonesia saw a 70 percent growth from January up to July 2021.

In its 2021 State of eCommerce App Marketing report, Indonesia is said to be the world’s third largest Android ecommerce app market with 8 percent of the global ecommerce app downloads, Bisnis.com reported.

Senior Customer Success Manager APAC AppsFlyer Luthfi Anshari writes that Indonesia ranks only behind Brazil with a total 19 percent ecommerce app installations and India with 17 percent of ecommerce downloads on Android devices.

Meanwhile, the United States, Brazil, and Russia complete the top-three ranking as the largest ecommerce markets for iOS devices. The 2021 ecommerce app marketing report gathered data from 1.7 billion installed ecommerce apps in Asia Pacific and 920 apps and 9 billion remarketing effort conversions in January to July 2021.

They conclude that the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the behavior of the public and drove consumers to adopt a new way of shopping. Luthfi Anshari wrote that Appsflyer suggests E-commerce apps to look into the Indonesian developing market.

Indonesia, according to Appsflyer, logged 116 percent growth in spending across Indonesia from January to July 2021.
