TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government has yet again decided to extend the public activity restrictions (PPKM) from September 7-13, 2021, as announced by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan on Monday, September 6, 2021.
“In general, the indicators of disease transmission, which encompassed increases in confirmed new cases, new hospital patients, and death rates have continued to improve,” Luhut said in the Monday virtual press conference.
In the extended PPKM affecting Java and Bali, the PPKM level of Yogyakarta is relaxed to level three from the previous four.
“As for Bali, we estimate that it will take another week to go down to level three from level four,” Luhut said.
Luhut explained the COVID-19 situation in the country had continued to pick up, as evident in the decreasing number of cities and regencies PPKM level four affected. He said only 11 cities/regencies—from the previous 25—in Java and Bali that were presently under PPKM level 4.
