Energy, Mineral Resources Sector Generate IDR 83 T in Non-tax Revenue

27 August 2021 00:47 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister Arifin Tasrif revealed in a hearing with the House of Representatives that non-tax state revenue (PNBP) in the energy and mineral resources sector had reached IDR 83.14 trillion, which equals to 68.60 percent of the initial 2021 goal of IDR 121.20 trillion.

"Our ministry is one of the many that contributed to the state in the non-tax revenue category, which consists of natural mineral and gas, mineral and coal, and geothermal, and many more,” Minister Tasrif said before Commission VII of the House of Representatives legislators on Thursday, August 26, 2021, Antaranews reported.

The ESDM sector's non-tax revenue, according to Tasrif, comes from mineral and gas business entities, domestic market obligations, services, rentals, and public service agency acceptance.

In 2020, this sector contributed IDR 108.7 trillion towards non-tax revenue or equals to 31 percent from the total national non-tax revenue of IDR 343.8 trillion.

Up until July 2021, mineral and gas natural resources contributed the most non-tax revenue with IDR 47.58 trillion, followed by mineral and coal (IDR 33.57 trillion), geothermal (IDR 0.79 trillion), and others contributing up to IDR 1.20 trillion.

ESDM minister Tasrif assured the members of the House that his ministry will try its best to overcome last year's achievement.
