TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Acting Chief of Industry, Trade, Cooperative, and SMEs Department, Andri Yansyah, claimed that the reopening of malls in the capital city had been running well. But the continuity of the operational will be depending on the central government's decision.

"We'll follow the central government's policy regarding the continuity of the operation [of the malls]," he told Tempo Saturday, August 14.

Andri said that his office has yet to find issues related to the violation of regulations.

All shopping centers follow the 10:00 to 20:00 operating hours rule and 25% visitor capacity. Gym, cinema, and children playground inside the malls have also yet to reoperate as Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is still banning those outlets to open.

The malls also require visitors to show vaccination cetificate through a digital system.

Previously, the central government set to relax the community mobility restrictions. One of them is the reopening of malls and shopping centers during the Covid-19 restictions dubbed the PPKM Level 4 on August 10-16.

Following this announcement, Anies Baswedan issued Gubernatorial Decree No. 974/2021 on Covid-19's PPKM Level 4.
