TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) applied new rules for local and long-distance train travel which refer to the Covid-19 Task Force Circular No. 17 of 2021. This is effective starting today, August 13, following the extended PPKM Level 4 in various regions until August 16, 2021.
KAI Vice President of Public Relations, Joni Martinus, explained the number of passengers is limited to 70 percent of the local train capacity and 50 percent of the long-distance train.
“Commuters must still comply with health protocols of wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining distance,” said Joni on August 13.
The following are the complete rules of train travel:

- Passengers must show a negative result of an RT-PCR test which is valid for 2x24 hours or a rapid antigen test 1x24 hours before departure.
- Passengers under 12 years old are not allowed to travel.

- Passengers are not required to show a vaccination card and a negative result RT-PCR test or rapid antigen test result. However, a random rapid antigen test will be carried out at train stations.
