China Tops West Sulawesi's Export Destination in 2021

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - China ranks first as the export destination from the West Sulawesi province logging an accumulative export value of US$132.77 million during the January-June period. According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the Philippines ranks second with a total value of US$69.13 million.
“Meanwhile Pakistan is third with a cumulative value of US$64 million,” said West Sulawesi BPS head, Agus Gede Hermawan, on August 3, Antaranews reported.
This means West Sulawesi’s cumulative export value surged 30.20 percent from US$242 million in the same period of 2020 to US314.07 million.
“The export value to China in June 2021 remains high reaching 17.36 million which equates to 37.98 percent of West Sulawesi’s total export,” he explained.
Animal/vegetable fats and oils remain the province’s highest contributing export commodity of 96.46 percent while oil and gas was the most imported commodity to the province.
