Covid-19 Daily Update: Indonesia Logs 33,900 New Cases; 1,590 Deaths

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia is still recording high numbers of Covid-19 infections daily. On Tuesday noon, August 2, authorities reported 33,900 new cases over the last 24 hours after testing 248,226 specimens.
The country also reported that 1,598 more people have died from the disease, bringing the nation's Covid-19 death toll up to 98,889.
To date, Indonesia's Covid-19 caseload has reached 3,496,700 million since the virus was first identified in the nation in early March last year.
Meanwhile, the number of recoveries recorded over the last day was 31,324 cases, bringing the number of Indonesia's Covid survivor up to 2,873,669.
The Indonesian government as of today is still monitoring 130,628 people suspected of having contracted the virus.
