TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Communications and Information Technology Ministry is investigating the sales of fake certificates and cards of Covid-19 vaccination. If they find evidence that the law had been broken, the government will take firm action against the perpetrators.
"For example, [if a person is proven] to offer or trade fake vaccination cards, the government will cut off access in accordance with applicable laws and regulations," the ministry's spokesman, Dedy Permadi, said on Tuesday, July 6.
Dedy said the government will also continue to develop the search for the findings.
"And if necessary, we will cooperate with the Police and related ministries/institutions for further legal proceedings," he said.
Internet users were shocked by the circulation of a photo showing vaccination certificates being traded on social media. They are sold for prices ranging between Rp9,000 and Rp15,000.
