Minister Airlangga: PPKM Mikro Darurat Effective July 3-20

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the central government will enforce the emergency micro-scale public activity restrictions dubbed PPKM Mikro Darurat on July 3-20, 2021.

“Reviewing the development of the national Covid-19 situation this week, the government has decided to implement the 'Emergency' Micro PPKM from July 3-20,” said Airlangga on his Instagram account @airlanggahartarto_official today, July 1.

Airlangga said the health protocol would be carried out with law enforcement during the Emergency Micro PPKM. For this reason, he asked the public to comply with and be disciplined in implementing health protocols.

According to him, that is the key in dealing with the current pandemic. “Fighting the pandemic requires awareness, determination, and collective efforts from all of us so that Covid-19 can be suppressed,” he underlined.

In addition to strengthening the implementation of health protocols, Airlangga said the government is striving to provide Covid-19 vaccines and achieve the one million vaccination target per day. Through these various efforts, he called on all parties to make serious efforts and be united to curb the Covid-19 spread.

Previously, President Joko Jokowi Widodo said the government will certainly adopt stricter Covid-19 restrictions dubbed PPKM Darurat to suppress the rate of Covid-19 cases. This new measure will replace the policy of tightened Micro PPKM which was implemented starting last Tuesday, July 22.
