COVID-19 Surge; Micro Lockdown Imposed on Eight Areas in Bekasi Regency

TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - The Bekasi Regency COVID-19 Task Force confirmed that eight districts were forced to enforce micro lockdown due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.

“Every point records dozens up to around 30 cases,” said regional task force spokesman Alamsyah today, June 11.

The eight areas are located in the districts of Tarumajaya, Tambun Utara, Serang Baru, South Cikarang, East Cikarang, and Central Cikarang. “These locations are under strict supervision and monitoring is carried out periodically,” he added.

One of the areas under micro lockdown is Villa Mutiara Gading 1 residential complex, community unit or RW 18 of Setia Asih Village, Tarumajaya. To date, 33 people in the area tested positive for the disease.

Based on the official page of the Bekasi Regency COVID-19 Task Force, pikokabsi.bekasikab.go.id, the regency has 645 active cases as of 11:00 local time, Thursday, June 10. On the same day, there were 114 new cases, bringing the total caseload to 27,297. There were also 26,362 recoveries and 290 deaths.
