TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - More than 100 residents in the community unit or RW 03 in Ciracas of East Jakarta have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, said Ciracas Head Rikia Marwan. The vaccines were administered since the infection cluster was detected in the subdistrict after the Eid holiday.
Previously reported, 36 people in RW 03 tested positive for the coronavirus disease after returning to Jakarta from their hometowns for the Eid celebration. Thus, the officials enforced a micro lockdown in the area.
“After the 36 people get treated, we immediately undergo PCR tests for all residents. Alhamdulillah, the results turn back negative,” said Rikia in Jakarta on Monday, May 31.
Residents aged 18 years and above were then given the Covid-19 vaccine. The official targeted a total of 200 vaccine recipients. However, some have got their shots. Rikia confirmed the vaccines were administered to more than 100 people.
“Several residents have already been vaccinated, such as the elderly, community administrators, or others from their offices and institutions,” he said, adding that the residents were now waiting for the schedule of the second injection.
