TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Twenty-four people of Villa Mutiara Gading, Bekasi, West Java, were tested positive for Covid-19 following a wedding party held by a family in the housing complex, making it the new Covid cluster in Bekasi.
“120 were tested and 24 people found to be positive. It was from the total of 10 houses,” Bekasi Metro Police chief Sr. Comm. Hendra Gunawan confirmed on Tuesday, June 8.
The new covid cluster emerged after a family in the complex held a wedding party that was attended by neighbors. Covid-19 task force officers held a random antigen swab tests in the neighborhood.
Following the finding, the police and the sub-district administration decided to impose micro-lockdown in the area. People are allowed to enter the complex through one access gate so it will be easier for the officers to monitor people's mobility.
In addition, a number of community activites such as religious, social, as well as art and culture events that are potential to create crowds are suppressed.
The micro-lockdown will be held for four days, the police said. The authorities will re-test the people in the housing comples and if it turns to be negative, the lockdown will be ended.
