TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Commissioner of state-owned gas company Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN), Arcandra Tahar, said that the company will focus its efforts on efficiency and return of investments following gas supply certainty, established infrastructure, and the surging demand for gas.
Arcandra also believed that PGN must take the initiative to a number of breakthroughs to be able to run the strategic plan and push for numerous efficiency policies.
"This is done to ensure that every policy taken could be run at its maximum and provide optimum and sustainable business advantages for the company," said Arcandra in Jakarta on Thursday, June 3, 2021.
Arcandra gave an example of the efficiencies practiced in the 360-kilometer Rokan oil pipe project, which was handed over to Pertagas and PGN with a USD 450 million capital expenditure. After going through a review, the project was able to run with a capital expenditure of USD 300 million, which saved the company USD 150 million (IDR 2 trillion).
Arcandra Tahar also revealed that PGN has improved on other aspects such as the key performance indicator (KPI) of its employees and board of directors, the KPI is calculated based on investment returns and no longer orientates around the number of investments.
