2.1 Million People in Jakarta Get First Dose of Covid-19 Vaccine

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Jakarta provincial government continued to accelerate Covid-19 vaccination. As of Monday, May 17, exactly 2,195,927 people in Jakarta have received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, or 73.2 percent of the target. Meanwhile, 1,483,715 people, or 49.4 percent of the target, have been fully vaccinated.

Jakarta Health Agency’s Head of Disease Prevention and Control Unit, Dwi Oktavia, said the vaccination for health workers, the elderly, and public servants is still ongoing.

Based on the agency’s data, the target number of vaccine recipients for the two stages amounted to 3,000,689 people.

“In detail, 129,318 healthcare workers have received their first dose (115.2 percent) and 113,982 health workers get their second dose (101.5 percent), from the target of 112,301 people,” said Dwi in a written statement on Monday.

As for the elderly group, 584,827 people, or 64.2 percent, have got one vaccine dose while only 502,660 people have been fully vaccinated or 55.1 percent. The total target of vaccination for the elderly group was 911,631 people.

Additionally, the Jakarta government has thus far administered the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine to 1,481,782 public service workers or 75.0 percent, while only 867,073 workers, or 43.9 percent, have received full vaccination. Dwi said the vaccination target for the public service group was 1,976,757 people.
