TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Directorate General of Immigration Spokesperson Arya Pradhana Anggakara said that the Directorate General is not yet aware of the arrival of 171 Chinese foreigners at the Soekarno-Hatta airport.
"I will have to confirm [the information] first," said Arya on Thursday, May 6, 2021.
Based on available information, the Chinese nationals landed at the airport at 11:50 this noon onboard Xiamen Air MF855 from Fozhou.
Arya asserted that the Directorate General is only aware of the previous arrival of 85 foreign nationals from China on May 4, 2021.
He insisted that the Indonesian immigration has obtained the documents belonging to the foreigners and assures that the 85 Chinese nationals had undergone proper health checks. He also said they were equipped with proper visas and other immigration documents.
However, the intention of their visit to Indonesia remains unknown as the government is firmly restricting the arrival of foreign nationals to prevent a further spread of the new Covid-19 strain.
