TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The price of gold sold by Aneka Tambang (IDX: ANTM) or Antam fell at Friday's trade, April 23. On its website, Antam lists its gold bullion bar price at Rp935,000 per gram, down Rp5,000 from Thursday's price.
Today's gold price is lower compared to the start of 2021 when it opened the year at Rp969,000 per gram. However, compared to the start of 2020, today's price is much higher than it was at Rp771,000.
On Thursday, gold stood at Rp940,000 per gram. Today, the buyback price is Rp833,000 per gram.
In global markets, gold remains strong despite pressures from economic recovery efforts that kept demand low. Bloomberg reported that the price of gold futures for June's contract at the NYME's Comex division gained 0.12 percent to trade for US$1.784.1 per troy ounce.
In upcoming weeks new purchases from India and China are expected to give wind for gold. In March, India's gold imports from Switzerland surged to their highest level in nearly eight years.
