TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian anti-terrorist police unit Densus 88 announced another arrest of a suspected terrorist in Surabaya on Monday afternoon of March 1.

According to the community head of the area where the suspected terrorist was captured, M Zainal Abidin, the Densus 88 personnel arrested an individual known by his initials ‘N.’ He recalled being asked to witness the thorough search that was done by law enforcers.

“The Densus 88 personnel searched for pieces of evidence in the house owned by the suspected terrorist ‘N’,” said the community Head of Moro Krembangan on March 1. “I was only asked to accompany the search and what is clear is that N is detained at the East Java Police.”

He also revealed that Densus 88 managed to confiscate the alleged suspect such as a long-rifle firearm, one machete, a hat, books, and stashed money worth millions of rupiah. The alleged terrorist, according to the Community Head, sells clothes while his wife works as a teacher.

This news comes as the second time an alleged terrorist has been arrested in Surabaya within one week after Densus 88 arrested ‘AIH’ on Friday, February 26. In total, the anti-terrorist unit detained 12 suspected terrorists in East Java.
