Wishnutama Says He is Ready to Lead Telkomsel as President Commissioner

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former tourism and creative economy minister Wishnutama Kusubandio has officially been named as the president commissioner of state-owned telecommunication firm Telkomsel (Telekomunikasi Selular).
Wishnutama claimed he is ready to lead the telecommunication giant, telling that it was his passion to work in the digital realm.
“Of course, my passion is in digital. This is compelling,” he told Tempo on Thursday, February 11, adding that he wants to assist the firm to develop itself from the digital point of view.
According to the former minister, Telkomsel needs to capture opportunities from the highly improving sector amid the pandemic.
Moreover, he intends to elevate the telecommunication firm into a digital power that is driven by data, and building foundations for artificial intelligence and machine learning in the future. He believes that the actions will improve the relation between the company and its customers.
State-owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir officially appointed Wishnutama as Telkomsel president commissioner which was announced by Telkom and Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) as Telkomsel shareholder.
