TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned hospital holding company PT Pertamina Bina Medika (Pertamedika IHC) clarified issues about a circular on the prices of Covid-19 vaccination services published by Pelni Hospital.
"Pelni Hospital does not have the authority to procure vaccines," as quoted from the company’s press release on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Due to massive misunderstandings over the information, the circular was withdrawn.
Pelni Hospital reportedly issued today a circular offering vaccination services with various types of Covid-19 vaccines and their prices.
However, the holding company confirmed that it was not an official statement. To date, the government is still running the free immunization using the Sinovac vaccine nationwide.
Based on the Presidential Regulation regarding vaccination in a bid to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, Pertamina Bina Medika IHC and its hospitals do not have the authority to procure vaccines.
All vaccine programs are under the authority of the Health Ministry and until the press release is published, there is no state policy on the private vaccination program.
Therefore, Pertamina Bina Medika offered an apology for the misunderstanding and inconvenience arising from the circular.
