TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Covid-19 hospitals in Depok City continue to receive patients with up to 90 percent occupancy rate. One of which is the University of Indonesia Hospital (RSUI).
RSUI business development manager Astrid Saraswaty Dewi on Thursday said that the hospital’s isolation rooms have exceeded 90 percent occupancy.
“Isolation [chamber] is over 90 percent while intensive care units to treat Covid-19 patients are already full,” said Astrid to Tempo on January 7. The hospital is equipped with 67 isolation rooms and 8 emergency facilities to treat Covid-19 cases.
She acknowledged that the increase had started before the year-end holidays but due to the current situation, the hospital is forced to only treat severe cases, which is in line with the instruction from the Health Ministry.
Meanwhile, the Depok City General Hospital Director Devi Maryori said government-owned hospitals that are equipped with more rooms are currently 85 percent filled, as severe cases had increased recently.
Depok City, up to Thursday, January 7, has recorded 18,846 cases with 14,778 total recoveries, 448 deaths, and 3,620 ongoing cases.
