TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan is targeting to have 18.6 million MSMEs connected to digital ecosystems by 2022. At the end of November, he said, 3.4 million units of MSMEs have digitized their businesses.
Luhut said that number is 70 percent higher than what the government targeted, which is 2 million MSMEs.
"I ask them to increase the target by the end of 2022 to 18.6 million units of MSMEs on-board," he said through his Instagram account on Monday, December 21.
To achieve the goal, he added, in 2021 the government will prioritize in increasing demand for MSME products and improving the role of regional governments. He also asked business actors to improve their positions by producing high-value products.
Luhut said that MSMEs will be included in the government procurement catalog, through a curation program with the LKKP.
In 2021, Luhut said the government plans to provide another stimulus for the program amounting to Rp7.6 trillion, as part of the efforts of national economic recovery.
