BMKG Forecasts Storm to Briefly Pound Jakarta on Dec. 22

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on Tuesday issued an early warning weather forecast citing strong storms over Jakarta on December 22. 

“Beware of potential heavy rain accompanied by thunder and brief strong winds in West, South, North, and East Jakarta from the morning until noon,” wrote the BMKG announcement on its website.

Rain is also forecasted in North Jakarta’s Kepulauan Seribu islands (Thousand Islands). Skies will start to clear as evening comes and is expected to remain cloudy until Wednesday dawn with average temperature ranging from 24-32 degrees celsius with 80-95 percent humidity level.
