TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) on Friday inspected the CCTV camera installed at KM 50 of the Cikampek toll road, which was the location of the deadly skirmish between several FPI members and police personnel.
Members of the Komnas HAM personally inspected the CCTV camera that failed to record the incident. This issue has gained traction among the public as it is believed to be strong evidence on the incident that saw 6 FPI members die.
“The team was shown [the CCTV camera] and was directly explained by Jasa Marga [as the toll road operator] and their technical team,” wrote the head of Komnas HAM's team of investigators, Choirul Anam, in Friday’s written statement.
The field inspection was done just one day after the human rights watchdog questioned the General Manager Representative Office 1 Regional Jasamarga Transjawa Toll Road (JTT), Widyatmiko Nursejati.
“We truly hope that there will be answers to this puzzle,” wrote Anam, who also encouraged people to come forward if they had substantial pieces of evidence.
