TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo’s millennial staff, Ayu Kartika Dewi, announced that she was confirmed positive for coronavirus disease through her Instagram post @ayukartikadewi today, Dec. 10.
“I am positive for Covid-19,” said Ayu in her post tonight.
Ayu said she did not know from whom she got infected. Since the virus was first detected in March, Ayu claimed she mostly spent time at home.
Last week, she made a working visit to Sigi, Central Sulawesi. However, upon returning from Sigi, her swab test result turned back negative.
After that, the president's special staff recalled that she met with three of her friends and had a meal together. “Because we have had a meal together, so perhaps I was exposed [to the virus] when taking off my face mask. So guys, take this as a lesson.”
“With just one meeting with a person who is positive for Covid-19, we can get infected. And meeting for a meal is the most dangerous moment because we definitely take off our face mask,” she continued.
Ayu said that she is under independent isolation for now and is classified as an asymptomatic carrier or OTG.
