Politician Wants His Police Report Against Rizieq Shihab to be Processed

11 November 2020 12:42 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian politician and lawyer Henry Yosodiningrat will reportedly request police to follow up his 2017 report he filed against Rizieq Shihab who he believes had committed slander. His written request is addressed to the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Nana Sudjana.

“I will deliver it to the Metro Jaya Police this noon,” said Henry to Tempo on Wednesday, November 11.

CIting his letter, Henry explains that the police had officially received his police report against the FPI leader on January 31, 2017, that was already officially registered under LP/529/l/2017/PMJ/Dit.Reskrimsus.

He argues that the police were not able to follow up his report because not long after Henry reported Rizieq Shihab to the police, Rizieq departed from Indonesia. “Rizieq had departed to Saudi Arabia which he claims was to conduct Umrah pilgrimage and temporarily stay in the country for no-less than 3.5 years,” as stated in his letter.

The criminal case is for the alleged slander committed by Rizieq Shihab spread on Facebook and Instagram where Henry was accused of being a communist and is hostile against Muslims.
