Rizieq Shihab Calls for Moral Revolution upon Arrival Home

TEMPO.CO, JakartaMuhammad Rizieq Shihab, the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), greeted his supporters who welcomed his return in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. He shook hands with them from the top of the car he boarded in.

“A moral revolution to save the Republic of Indonesia, for the blessing of Indonesia. Are you ready for a moral revolution?” Rizieq shouted.

“In a moral revolution, disobedient people become pious. Let us eradicate injustice, agreed? Let us eradicate corruption, agreed?” he continued.

The call was met with mass’ cheers. Some of them recited religious chants (shalawat), while some shouted their approval.

Rizieq Shihab arrived in Indonesia at 09:00 local times today, November 10. He previously announced his return through the YouTube channel of FPI, Front TV.

Large crowds have packed Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Rizieq’s residence in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, since early morning.
