TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil on Wednesday claimed the province has zero COVID-19 red zones and encouraged everyone to maintain this condition.
“No areas in West Java are considered to be COVID-19 red zones,” said the governor on August 5.
Kamil said that strict health protocols must continue to be implemented despite the zero red zones. He also reminded West Java residents to stay extra cautious especially upon traveling to other provinces.
“The majority of areas in West Java have the highest low-risk zones in Indonesia with 88 percent,” said the governor who also forecasted the reopening of West Java’s education sector especially in green zones.
Ridwan Kamil explained that the gradual reopening of senior high schools (SLTA) must coincide with strict health protocols to avoid sparking new COVID-19 infection clusters.
