TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The COVID-19 task force expert member Dr. Dewi Nur Aisyah on Wednesday said that the team found 90 offices that are coronavirus clusters with a total of 459 cases in total.
"The number is nearly 10 fold with additional 416 cases, compare it to pre-PSBB that only recorded 43 cases," said the doctor on Wednesday, July 29.
According to Dewi, there are two possibilities why cases in the offices have risen. Firstly, the possibility of having an infected person mingling in offices with people that are not infected.
People could possibly be infected in their commute on public transportation to offices, she continued, or, people can probably bring the disease from their home environment.
Another aspect that makes offices a high-risk environment for the spread of the virus is the lack of ventilation with closed air-condition.
The COVID-19 task force highly recommends offices to impose remote-working or work from home and impose a limit in-office attendance.
