TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Administration, according to its official government website, up to July 21 had buried 3,457 bodies under COVID-19 burial protocols, which was introduced on March 5.
April 8, 2020, saw the highest number of burials under the coronavirus protocol with 54 burials in one single day.
The government had buried over 50 bodies throughout April 2020 which happened on April 2 (53 bodies), April 7 (53 bodies), and April 12 (52 bodies).
That tendency dropped in May and June, which continued to the past week with the Jakarta administration burying 18 bodies each day under the COVID-19 protocol.
From the entire bodies that were buried under the protocol, 766 had been confirmed positive for coronavirus exposure while the remaining 2,195 are patients that are still suspects (without a final diagnosis).
