Govt Reveals Factors Affecting Recovery in Covid-19 Patients

2 July 2020 16:58 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe government’s spokesman for the Covid-19 mitigation, Achmad Yurianto, explained that factors influencing the recovery in Covid-19 patients keep increasing.

“We are grateful for many recoveries in patients as they received better treatment,” said Yurianto in a discussion aired by the BNPB’s Youtube channel on Thursday, July 2.

Yurianto said that hospitals provided better medical care for patients since the bed occupancy rate was only 55.6 percent nationwide.

“The available resources, the presence of health workers and others can offer optimal services. They are not too exhausted,” he added.

Another factor is that the public had made better responses so that people who visited the hospital were those with mild to moderate cases in general.

People with comorbidities had also realized that they needed protection so relatively, only a few who went to the hospital. “This has become a factor influencing the high recovery trend.”

Yurianto presented data that the average recovery in Covid-19 patients reached 44 percent nationwide. As many as 13 provinces even reported the rate of above 70 percent, including Bangka Belitung, Yogyakarta, and Lampung. Meanwhile, North Maluku still had a low recovery rate.
