TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahadalia, had formed a special task force assigned to facilitate and attract investors that plan to relocate away from China, and hopefully have them interested in investing in Indonesia.
This team is mainly tasked to actively entice a number of American and Japanese corporations that have set foot away from China ever since the coronavirus (COVID-19) hit the country.
The task force has three main objectives, according to Bahlil, which include detecting companies that plan to relocate, making sure how other countries facilitate these investors and lastly is to be able to negotiate a decision.
“That is essential to be given, to make things quick,” said the BKPM head on Monday. “There were some at the BKPM that came in. There are those with 60 percent done while others are still being negotiated. But I must keep such information and wait for the president to announce it.”
According to him, Indonesia is included in the 10 investment destination countries of 2020 and states Indonesia as to having major potential in its natural resources.
