Nadiem Makarim Presents Netflix Documentaries on TVRI

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As Indonesian students enter the school holidays, the Education and Culture Ministry has today announced a partnership with the streaming giant Netflix.
The Education and Culture Minister Nadiem Makarim said that the cooperation was free of charge.
“The ministry appreciates Netflix’s support, which for the first time in the world is working with the government to broadcast its best documentaries on television,” said Nadiem in a written statement on Wednesday, June 17.
The documentaries will be screened on state-owned TV broadcaster TVRI as part of the “Belajar dari Rumah” or home learning program.
The show will start on June 20, 2020, every Saturday at 09:30 p.m. and the relay on every Sunday and Wednesday at 09:00 a.m. The documentaries are equipped with the Indonesian subtitle.
The programs include Our Planet, Street Food: Asia, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, Spelling The Dream, Chasing Coral, and Night on Earth.
Nadiem Makarim said that his ministry did not rule out the possibility of cooperating with other world-class partners in providing educational material for Indonesian people.
