Covid-19 Task Force: Hospital Bed Occupancy in Jakarta Drops

16 June 2020 19:26 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaDoni Monardo, the Head of the Covid-19 National Mitigation Task Force, claimed that the government’s handling of the new coronavirus pandemic continued to show progress.

This, he added, was proven from the declining number in hospitals’ bed occupancy in Jakarta. As of Monday, June 15, 2020, the bed occupancy rate dropped to below 40 percent.

“The number of patients treated in hospitals is getting fewer,” Doni said in his speech at the Assessment and Application of Technology Agency (BPPT) event today, June 16, 2020.

Doni also mentioned that the death toll from Covid-19 is declining as well, and the number of recoveries keeps increasing.

He pointed out that in Jakarta, out of the total 9,120 positive patients, 4,195 were declared cured.

Doni Monardo assessed that this condition could not be separated from the work of healthcare workers who are tireless. “Over time, doctors and medical workers have begun to find ways and formulations to treat patients better and help them to recover.”
