Minister Approves West Java PSBB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto provides his approval for Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) for the West Java Province. "It has been [approved]," said Covid-19 mitigation spokesman Achmad Yurianto through a short message on Friday evening, May 1, 2020.
West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil confirmed the approval through his Twitter account. Ridwan said that with the approval, 17 regencies and cities in West Java will follow Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, and Bandung Raya, which have previously initiatied PSBB.
"Provincial-scale PSBB has been approved by the Health Minister today," Ridwan stated in his Twitter account @ridwankamil on Friday, May 1, 2020.
Ridwan informed that the PSBB in West Java will be in force on Wendesday, May 6, 2020. He added that the homecoming ban has also managed to cut-off the spread of Covid-19.
The porposal for West Java PSBB was previously made collectively thorugh a letter submitted by the governor, who is also acting as the Chief of West Java Covid-19 Mitigation Acceleration Task Force. During a virtual meeting with 17 regents and mayors on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, Ridwan said that all regional heads have agreed to a provincial-scale PSBB.
"It has become a necessity, it also facilitates bureaucracy so it is enough [to send] one letter from the Chief of Covid-19 Mitigation Acceleration Task Force for the province," Ridwan said in his statement on Wednesday evening, April 29, 2020.
Ridwan also requested all regents and mayors to prepare for the enforcement of PSBB in their respective regions. He said that information dissemination and conditioning of the residents must be prioritized.
