Sri Mulyani: No Allowance for President, Vice President, and DPR

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati announced that the list of non-recipients for the 2020 religious allowance (THR) will include the President, Vice President, House of Representatives legislators, and a number of state officials. 

The announcement was made by the Sri Mulyani in a video conference plenary meeting with President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo along with state-officials and regional leaders earlier on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. 

"In accordance to the President's instruction, the THR for the president, vice president, state-ministers, DPR legislators, regional heads, regional legislative council [DPRD] members, and echelon 1 and 2 officials will not receive their THR," said Sri Mulyani in the meeting.

However, Sri assured that the THR will be paid for the entire echelon 3 or lower state-apparatus, military personnel, police personnel, and pensioners. 

Sri Mulyani's announcement follows the previous report earlier today suggesting that Indonesia's economic growth is predicted to endure major correction due to the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
