TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) chairman Ki Agus Ahmad Badarrudin died at 62 years old on Saturday, March 14, at Persahabatan Hospital, East Jakarta. He was tested negative for coronavirus or COVID-19.
“The test result is negative [for the virus],” said Badarrudin’s family member at RSUP Persahabatan today, March 14.
Based on Tempo’s report on the location, East Jakarta Police Chief Sr. Commissioner Ady Wibowo was seen escorted the body of the late Ki Agus Badaruddin to his home for the funeral. Media was barred from reporting the moment.
Badaruddin was treated at Persahabatan Hospital - one of the referral hospitals for Covid-19 patients - before he passed away. Previously, he allegedly died of coronavirus disease but the test result came negative.
Spokesman of Covid-19 response team Achmad Yurianto also asserted that no state official was reported positive for coronavirus and then died.
Ki Agus Badaruddin was appointed chairman of the PPATK in October 2016 by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, replacing his predecessor M. Yusuf, who retired in the same year.
