TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta adminstration is targeting to complete the development and rearrangements of passenger flows of four train stations in the end of March 2020. The four stations are Tanah Abang, Juanda, Sudirman and Pasar Senen Stations. The projects kicked off on January 21.
“There are 72 stations in total. And for the first phase since the signing of the cooperation agreement we are going to rearrange four stations,” Jakarta Transportation Agency chief Syafrin Liputo said at the City Hall on Friday, March 6, 2020.
He said the cooperation agreement was inked by his agency, state-run railway operator PT KAI and PT MRT Jakarta on January 10, and that it sought to realize an integrated zone of intermodal transportation in the capital.
After the projects were complete, he added, the government would continue with other stations in the second quarter: Jakarta Kota, Palmerah, Gondangdia, and Cikini Stations.
“The rearrangement seeks to realize a comprehensive integration of intermodal transportation at the station areas,” he said.
