TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Around 37 terrorist convicts incarcerated at Gunung Sindur Prison in Bogor and Cipinang Penitentiary in Jakarta are moved to Nusakambangan and Cilacap Prisons in Central Java.
The coordinator of Nusakambangan and Cilacap Prisons, Erwedi Supriyatno confirms the transfer of dozens of terrorist prisoners. However, he didn't mention the exact number of prisoners that are transferred from Gunung Sindur Prison to Cipinang Prison, saying that he has no idea.
But overall, the number of prisoners that are moved to Nusakambangan and Cilacap Prison reached 37 people.
"There will be 36 people in Nusakambangan and one person in Cilacap Prison. In Nusakambangan, 30 people will be placed at Kranganyar Prison and six at Besi Prison," said Erwedi.
The Head of Cipinang Jail Hendra Eka Putra admits that 16 prisoners had been transferred to the Nusakambangan.
According to Hendra, the transfer of 16 terrorist convicts to Nusakambangan Prison is conducted due to the assessment process. "So they are being assessed if they are still considered not cooperative, we will move them and educate them there," he explained.
