TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former governor of Jakarta Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (BTP), familiarly called Ahok, stated that he was friends with those people who took part in the protests against him on the blasphemy case that dragged him down to two-years imprisonment sentence.
“Now I’m friends with those who took part in the protests against me. I’m friends with Gatot Nurmantyo,” said BTP as quoted from the exclusive interview with Tempo published on Tempo Magazine’s latest edition.
Gatot who was former armed forces commander presented during the mass protest on November 4 and December 2, 2016, that demanded the completion of the blasphemy case.
BTP said he would run a business raising chickens with Gatot. Several preparations had been carried out, including conducting a ‘study tour’ to Australia. The now chief commissioner of Pertamina had sometimes visited Gatot’s chicken farms in Purwakarta, West Java.
When he was contacted via phone, Gatot confirmed his meetings with Ahok. “I open myself to give assistance and share experience,” he said on Thursday, February 13.
