TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - House of Representatives (DPR) Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad says the House will give additional time for the government to revise what it claims to be a typo that was found in the draft of omnibus law on job creation (RUU Cipta Kerja).
“There will be a meeting between the government and the House, we will give the government a chance to review the draft during that moment,” said Dasco at the Senayan Parliamentary Complex on Tuesday, February 18.
According to the DPR deputy speaker, the draft of the job creation law will be handed to the deliberation board after it is thoroughly discussed by the legislators. It will then be finally decided by a special committee or legislation board.
It is during this process that the House legislators will conduct a stringent review on the draft of the law.
“We have not studied it deeper. There was an error but it was then claimed to be a typo,” said the House deputy speaker.
The Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly previously said that the early draft of Article 170 in the draft of omnibus job creation (RUU Cipta Kerja) oversees the government’s ability to change the Law through a set of government regulations (PP), which Yasonna claims to be a typing mistake.
